Why houses go green here
Damp air off the river, shady blocks under gums, and walls that don't get much sun. Mould and algae love it. You'll usually see it first on the south side, under the eaves and around gutters, then on window frames and fences.
How we wash a house
- Plants near the walls are wet down before we start
- Windows and doors are closed and checked
- Walls are treated with a cleaning solution, then rinsed at low pressure
- Eaves, gutter faces, frames and sills are done as part of the job
- Paths and decks are rinsed so you're not left with runoff
Brick can take a bit more pressure; render, paint, weatherboard and modern cladding can't. Each surface gets what it can handle, which is the whole point of having someone experienced do it.

Painted walls, render and cladding are washed at low pressure with a cleaning solution, not blasted. That's what keeps paint and render intact.
Do you clean the eaves and windows frames?
Yes. Eaves, gutters faces, window frames and sills are part of a house wash. Fly screens can be taken down and rinsed if you'd like.
Can you wash a two-storey house?
Yes. Two-storey homes are washed from the ground with extension equipment where possible, and from ladders where it's safe.
How long does a house wash take?
Most single-storey homes are done in a few hours. Bigger homes or a house wash with a roof clean can take a full day. Your quote will say.
